Democratic Party Clubs
Every democratic club in the state of California can participate in this network. Our aim is to help each club grow, flourish, and advocate as effectively as possible. In the months to come, our plan is to reach out to all the clubs in California for which we have contact information. As well, in local regions where no club yet exists, perhaps we can help build one and bring it into the network. Individual Democratic activists, not yet affiliated with a club, can also find support here.
As the "Take Back Red California" folks point out, we need to "improve Democratic Party visibility and infrastructure, and build multi-county partnerships to help elect Democrats statewide in November '06."
We want as well, of course, to advance club work around specific issues. This network can help individual club members and club committees find others who share their interests.
Of course, there will be matters on which individual clubs disagree. In an election primary, for example, one club may support one candidate, and another another. Diversity of opinion within and between our clubs is not only tolerable but desirable -- pluralism is what democracy is all about! Let's respect and learn from one another. There are so many domains and issues where we can work together well, advancing the ideals of freedom, democracy, fairness, and security that we all cherish.
If your club already has a website, we can provide network links to that site. If your club does not yet have a website, we encourage you to build one. Perhaps we can help you construct an Internet presence. |
